Fencing and Gates
Time for fencing and gates to enclose the property. We are using a pipe fence with utility panels across the front of the property and about 40 feet up each of the sides and the rest will have 4 ft tall field fence. Since we are in mostly rock we called on the services of Duncan with BP Tractor www.bptractor.com to come in and drill holes for all the metal posts for the front and side pipe fence as well as for all the metal line posts that will be spaced every 70 feet. Since there was no way to drive in the t- post we also had them drill holes for all the t-posts that go in between all the line posts. They were very reasonable and it was well worth the cost. We will have Duncan back out when it is time to drill holes for all the posts for our 400 square foot rear deck and the 6 foot fence for around our garden to help keep out the deer.
My brother in law Frank, brought up his welder and we spent a Saturday welding up the pipe fence along the front of the property and installing the two temporary gates. (I will have him back up once the building shell is done so we can install the cover on the 400 square feet front porch).
One gate is for getting our 40 plus foot long fifth wheel (which will be our temporary weekend home during construction) into the end of the building and the other will be our main drive gate that will lead to a circular drive.
Once all the major construction is complete we will build permanent wrought iron gates, but for the time being the $89 Tractor Supply gates will do just fine.
